A Mystery Solved

A Big THANK YOU needs to go to the fellow blogger that helped me solve this mystery. I apologize that I can't locate your name, but if you see this, you'll know
who you are....

Once upon a time, I came upon these books by Glenna McReynolds and I was captivated. In fact, the first one, The Chalice and the Blade pictured way down below, was the one that started me reading medieval fantasy romance. Once I started, I was voracious! I looked for and found the next two in the series. Wow, was that fun! Then, all of a sudden, she stopped! She wrote River of Eden (not pictured here and not a medieval) which also was enjoyable then Boom. Nada, Zip. I mentioned this fact somewhere on mine or someone else's blog and I was told that Glenna may be writting under a different name!!!! THANK YOU!! Because it is true.

Books Pictured in Reverse order of reading ( I'm still figuring out this posting pictures business)

My first Medieval Fantasy Romance book..*sigh*

Glenna is now writing under the name of TARA JANZEN and it looks like she's going to be writing spy thriller romances starting September 2005. Crazy Hot is the first one. http://www.tarajanzen.com/
I am so excited to find her again and that she's still writing. I had to share my happiness with everyone!!!
So, that's one missing author found, one more to go....
This is a great example of M's Favorite Things!!!

Vernacular twist-Can You Relate??

Computers

LIFE BEFORE THE COMPUTER
Memory was something you lost with age
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
A keyboard was a piano
A web was a spider's home
A virus was the flu
A CD was a bank account
A hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And if you had a 3 inch floppy ..
*
*
... you just hoped nobody ever found out !!!!!!!

A good friend shared these with me, and since you are visiting me, I'll share them with you.
FYI - this was also an experiment with uploading a picture.......I did it!!!!! It's cute too.
I just need to work on the spacing. *sigh*

Meet the Reading Maniac

I've been reading. Like THAT's a big surprise? *grin* These past 3 weeks have been a fun literary ride. So, tell me, have YOU read any of these????

A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur's Court by Marianne Mancusi
Whats not to like about this fun romp in the past with a "now' kind of gal?
This was a one day read. (like you can't put it down?!!)

Unmasked by C. J. Barry - compared to the first 3 UN books which were fun, this one had me on the edge of my seat. Aychiwawa! Read it within 24 hours.

Oceans of Fire by Christine Feehan - Took me 2 days - well worth it

The Corst Diaries by Katie MacAlister - Oh, this was worth a ROTFLMAO!
Read within 24 hours - simply had to

Perfect for the Beach- Oh smorgasboard of great fun! Features Lori Foster, MaryJanice Davidson, Kayla Perrin, Erin McCarthy, Janelle Denison and Morgan Leigh -
2 day read, sometimes you just have to have spice

Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down - With Sherrilyn Kenyon, Melanie George and Jaid Black
read within 24 hours, but I wanted it sooner or longer, not sure which - Jaid Black's was really cool! Simply Sizzling Yowza!

Bad Boys To Go with Lori Foster, Janelle Denison and Nancy Warren. Wow, these
ladies can write. Took 2 days with this one. Love those Bad Boys!

Never Naughty Enough by Jill Monroe - read in one afternoon. I had so much
fun, I didn't want to put it down!!!

Spellbound by Rebecca York - Another one read in one afternoon- good romantic read

Lie by Moonlight by Amanda Quick - read this within 24 hours -Comfortable read

Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff.- This was recommended by another commenter
on another author's blog. Yeah, I liked it and enjoyed the journey but I felt that
the relationship was unsatisfied for me. I needed my HEA!
Hence, upon further checking, I found;
The Second Summoning- Now This was worth it- my quest for the satisfaction of their romantic hinting was met. This one was fun!, thrilling and had some memorable moments of sheer genius and laugh out loud funny. In hopes that this remarkable momentum is continued, I then found
The Long Hot Summoning. *sigh* Picture brakes slamming on. I did NOT enjoy this one nearly as much as 1 & 2. I'm not one to say really specific negatives, I will continue to be nice. I will say I was dissapointed on many different levels.
All in all, I'd say the three books took me about a 4 days to read.

I've been so happy with the stories I've been reading. But, now I NEED YOUR HELP!!! July is upon me and I've read through most of my TBR pile. What do you recommend that I read next?
Oh, before you mention these, the Givinchy Code and Awaken Me Darkly are recently in my possession and are next on my reading radar .......*picture hands rubbing in anticipation*
As you can see, I am Lady Read-a Lot, and I need more......
I await your wisdom. BOOK ME!

Warning - Political Rant/Sounding Board

High court OKs personal property seizures
Majority: Local officials know how best to help cities
Friday, June 24, 2005; Posted: 12:32 a.m. EDT (04:32 GMT)
Expire = "07/23/2005";
http://premium.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/23/scotus.property.ap/

This is the link that tells all about it. It will only work until 7/23/05
Supreme Court
Connecticut
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that local governments may seize people's homes and businesses -- even against their will -- for private economic development............ Above link tells whole story.

This is very disturbing to me. I feel like one of our basic rights have been tampered with.
I do not usually do anything political. But CT is just over our border. Too close to home to ignore what these people were fighting against and lost. I feel the need to vent, so here I am.
All the villans that are in the books we read and write are based on a true aspect of human nature. I can see this travesty being be visited upon people who have "prime" property that perhaps has been in their families for generations but currently without the funds to defend themselves. With the vote of the town/city and the stereotypical developer as the behind the scenes villain (which DOES happen btw), that family land will be deemed a location as "of vital importance to the economic integrity of the area" and said landowners will be steamrolled out of the picture. This seems to sound the death knell to local family histories in small local communities and , dare I say, the beginning of the end to the "middle class" as we've known it. Am I being melodramatic? Alarmist?......don't think so. How many countrys in this world have YOU heard about where the few (rich) control the many (everyone else) . *sigh* I thank God that I live in this county, however screwy things get....because with the first admendment, I still am able to vent, rant and act like Chicken Little as I just have.....and maybe...just maybe....the decision someday can be overturned...even if it is a Supreme Court decision.
*whew* I feel a tad better. Thank you for baring with me. Next blog will be totally fluff.

Motto's? Are you Serious?

Would you ever consider any of these to be your own personal motto?

If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague. (huh?)

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
*whew*, only $20 bucks? Close call!

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
Is that wearing polyester pant suits? Using Pocket protectors? Wearing white socks with sandles?

Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
(I would like to think anything written by an OOTB author qualifies):-)

The early worm gets eaten by the bird, so sleep late. (unless you have kids , then
THEY sleep late *wink*)

Someone sent these to me via email. The tiny after comments are mine. Anyway,
I would love to adopt the last one, but in reality,
would probably benefit from utilizing #1. Being vague seems to just
come naturally to me.
*hic* Must be old age *hic* (grin)

CHILD'S PLAY

Wanna play today?

This is an actual test that 3rd grade students are expected to pass. Can you pass it? Click on the link and go from there. http://www.pibmug.com/files/map_test.swf

Don't feel so bad if it doesn't work out that way you think it should........I tried twice
and I Still failed.........How did I ever graduate?????

However, to compensate for any frustrated feelings,
please consider the following........

It is good to be a woman:
1. We got off the Titanic first. 2. We can scare male bosses with the mysterious gynecological disorder excuses. 3. Taxis stop for us. 4. We don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing. 5. No fashion faux pas we make, could ever rival the Speedo. 6. We don't have to pass gas to amuse ourselves. 7. If we forget to shave, no one has to know. 8. We can congratulate our teammate without ever touching her rear end. 9. We never have to reach down every so often to make sure our privates are still there. 10. We have the ability to dress ourselves. 11. We can talk to the opposite sex without having to picture them naked. 12. If we marry someone 20 years younger, we are aware that we will look like an idiot. 13. We will never regret piercing our ears. 14. There are times when chocolate really can solve all your problems. 15. We can make comments about how silly men are in their presence because they aren't listening anyway.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

I am only as strong as the coffee I drink, the hairspray I use and the friends I have.
Thanks for Starbucks, Paul Mitchell and you *grin*

Cookies: Why does quality go down?

Why does quality go down when recognition goes up??????

I speak of my favorite COOKIES. (I feel an affinity for Cookie Monster here) They are referred to as Greek cookies; light crumbly
cookies with lots and lots of chopped walnuts (or pecans) covered in powdered sugar.
Great with tea or coffee.
I used to buy them from a little family bakery, but, alas, time
marches on and owners change. So, what's it like Now???
The cookies sell for $8.00 to $10.00 a pound!!!!! AND they got smaller. ...Like WHY?
My mouth is the same size. Bod isn't, but whose is??.....Nope, don't answer that...(thankyou)
Fast forward to moving to a new community and discovering the most frenetic
kamikaze baking artiste ever to bake. His cakes aren't frosted, they are decorated, garnished
and are a work of art. One must truly appreciate the seriousness of his craft. He does.
What he also does is make Greek cookies . *sigh* BIG, delicious Greek cookies. The best part, they only cost $4.99 a pound. Did I mention bigger? Bigger IS better *grin*. Let's face it, when you eat a cookie, it should last more than once stingy bite! I want to bite Into a cookie, not inhale it. (ouch)
He's now becoming well known in the area and I'm worried. What will happen to my
Big Fat Greek Cookies???? Will they mutate and shrink ? Will the price go up higher than a man's salute to Pamela Anderson? Gack!
I'm hoping not, I'll go into withdrawal. I can't keep moving to a new community just to find awesome , home-made, thigh-creating, butt expanding, delicious cookies. Can I?? (FYI-nope)
Question of the day - What is YOUR favorite Cookie? And What lengths would YOU go
for your cookie fix? Make it or buy it? Ask or Connive for it? Barter or Bribe for it?
What unleashes the cookie demon in you??????????

Monday Musings, Mumbles,and Mentions

HiYa!!
I was visiting Bonnie's blog and I thought, what a nice idea! ; to share
favorite quotes. So, Here are my contributions:

About Gardening (a Favorite thing)
My good hoe as it bites the ground revenges my wrongs,
and I have less lust to bite my enemies.
In smoothing the rough hillocks, I smooth my temper.
By: Ralph Waldo Emerson

About an author's response to a good review:
We blossom under praise like flowers in sun and dew;
we open, we reach, we grow.
By: Gerhard E. Frost

About relationships between "shifters" (Could be *grin*)
Love from one being to another can only be that two
solitudes come nearer, recognize and protect and
comfort each other.
By: Han Suvin

About --nothing, I just liked it *grin*
It probably would be all right if we'd love our neighbors as we love ourselves,
but could they stand that much affection?
By: Anonymous

Hey, it's Monday. Gotta start the week sappy and upbeat. I save snappy,
bitchy quotes for Fridays. (quick, does anybody know any?????)

Lastly, this is about the wonderful ladies from the OOTB - This quote's for you!!!
Anybody can sympathize with the sufferings of a friend, but it requires
a very fine nature to sympathize with a friend's success.
By: Oscar Wilde

That's all folks!

I took Bonnie's quizzes and here are my results

Star Wars Horoscope for Libra

You are on a lifelong pursuit of justice and determined to succeed.
You convey the art of persuasion through force.
You always display your supreme intelligence.
You have a great talent in obtaining balance between yourself and your surroundings.

Star wars character you are most like: Obi Wan Kenobie

Your Element Is Water

A bit of a contradiction, you can seem both lighthearted and serious.
That's because you're good at going with the flow - but you also are deep.

Highly intuitive, you tune in to people's emotions and moods easily.
You are able to tap into deep emotional connections and connect with others.

You prefer a smooth, harmonious life - but you can navigate your way around waves.
You have a knack for getting people to get along and making life a little more peaceful.

What number are You?

You Are the Peacemaker
#9

You are emotionally stable and willing to find common ground with others.

Your friends and family often look to you to be the mediator when there is conflict.

You are easy going and accepting. You take things as they come.

Avoding conflict at all costs, you're content when things are calm.

Gee, I always liked Obi-wan --- Especially since Ewan MacGregor portrays him now.
Yum. I guess, if anyone is reading this post has had me post on their blog before, I'm thinking that maybe they might agree with the results????
As far as #9 - I always associated that number with a LOVE potion. Can you hear it in your head now???? *grin*
Thanks to Bonnie Fergusen for fun quizzes - Where does she come up with these??
I can't NOT contribute so, here is a site to visit that I enjoyed . I found it on another authors page and it is a riot.....should I name the author? Anyway,
It is http://www.tomatonation.com/roombaloo.shtml
My take on it????
That it was Adorable! I can visualize puffed up- freaked out cats zooming around, sliding on their claws as they take a sharp corner trying to get away. ROTHLMAO!!!!! There is nothing funnier than a cat with the Halloween Arch, fur stretched out a mile doing its little hissing and spitting hoppy dance. I'm bad.

2 Harlequins in one night, Whee!

I'm not sure what it is about Harlequins. Ever since I can remember, I was
always able to read 2, sometimes even 3, in a day. My first one was by
Violet Winspear. That's all I remember. I used to document all the titles
and authors I had read and even rated them. How I wish I had kept that
list.
What I DO remember, is that after awhile, even as young as I was, it had
gotten stale. It didn't matter what country it took place in; Same-o-Same-o ...
older man with a stiff as a board personality, cruel most times and usually well off.
(money obviously can't buy a better personality) Manly man was usually paired with a young, virginal (seems they all were back then -- amazing!) girl who withstood it all. She was such a limp Victim of the catty comments, snubbing and schemes of the scorned older more experienced woman, or the women who wanted the man for herself. The bitches were always better dressed and *wink wink* always claimed to know just what a man's "needs" were and how to satisfy them. Strife, angst, betrayal and drawn out drama carried
the story until 2 pages from the end (let's hit our hero over the head with a 2X4 why don't we)
when suddenly, He LOVES her! He was so mean to her because HE was fighting,
(oh the agony), his attraction for her. *smooch smooch* and off they go, living
happily ever after ...la ti da. Talk about a dysfunctional family in the making!

Now, fast forward, oh say 20 odd years. Somewhere during that span, a fresh
breeze came in and brought excitement, stronger and more confident women
(which greatly expands and enhances the stories) , add new ideas, fantastical
creatures, spunky dialog and realistic sensual interaction between the
character leads and Harlequins are back on my reading radar.

Finally I can get to the 2 books I read last night ( *happy sigh*)
First NEVER NAUGHTY ENOUGH by JILL MONROE
A Harlequin Temptation
This was Fun!!!! Loved the hypnosis angle. The naughty little
innuendos had the male lead (Wag *grin*) practically frothing at the mouth.
Annabelle had her painted toe nails and non-clothes BUT the Blue Boa
was a truly inspired piece of writing. LOL!!! Sometimes you need
a fun romp to balance out the non-fun moments of real life.
Never Naughty Enough delivered romance and smiles in spades.

Second SPELLBOUND by REBECCA YORK
A Harlequin Intrique
This one Almost resembled the "stiff as a board" alpha male that
can't communicate well and clams up about his feelings.
Fortunately, that perception was short lived. It was used as a
conflict in the story, not to define the character as a whole as had
been done in the past. There was more definition to Andre, the
male lead, and a fleshed out reason for his being the way he was.
You want him to find love. Morgan , the lady PI , is strong,
feminine and actually thinks and acts for herself. She was a
good balance for Andre. I enjoyed the journey of the romance
and the touch of the paranormal that lent itself to the excitement
of the story. And of course, I LOVE a happy ending!

Between the two stories, I had a great ride! The laughter, mystery, anticipation, suspense, silliness, the touch of paranormal and , yes , the sex .....were well worth the read. I'm amazed that I was able to fall asleep after reading all that.
Harlequins sure have come a long way. I am happy to put them back in my TBR pile.

So dear reader, MY QUESTION FOR YOU.....
What titles would you recommend that I read next??????

Ramble on ......total nonsense

Nothing specific to say, so I'll share some sillies with you. Sharing is one of my Favorite things .....but you know that *grin*

First, I'll share this: .... What do you call a hacked up ball of hair from a Feline Shifter??? A "wairball" of course! (wereball?)
OK, that was stretching the funny bone a bit....but when a funny comes to you in a dream, do they EVER make sense??????? Do you have one you'd care to share????

What do you call a vampire that enjoys the sport of gliding????

A FANG -GLIDER!!!!

What do you call a silly person who LOVES the layer of smog in the big cities???

A HAZE-L NUT!!! (ok, I'll admit I'm REALLY stretching it there with that one *grin*)

To save you from my twisted mind, I'll next post one that came in my email:

Have you ever told a white lie? You are going to love this -- especially all the ladies who bake for church events. Jane was to bake a cake for the church ladies' group bake sale, but she forgot to do it until the last minute. She baked an angel food cake and when she took it from the oven, the center had dropped flat. She said, "Oh dear, there's no time to bake another cake." So, she looked around the house for something to build up the center of the cake. Jane found it in the bathroom ... a roll of toilet paper. She plunked it in and covered it with icing. The finished product looked beautiful, so she rushed it to the church. Before she left the house, Jane had given her daughter some money and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the minute it opened, and to buy that cake and bring it home. When the daughter arrived at the sale, the attractive cake had already been sold. Jane was beside herself. The next day, Jane was invited to a friend's home where two tables of bridge were to be played that afternoon. After the game, a fancy lunch was served, and to top it off, the cake in question was presented for dessert. Jane saw the cake, she started to get out of her chair to rush into the kitchen to tell her hostess all about it, but before she could get to her feet, one of the other ladies said, "What a beautiful cake!" Jane sat back in her chair when she heard the hostess (who was a prominent church member) say.... "Thank you, I baked it myself."

You Do realize the Moral here don't you? PROCRASTINATION DOES PAY!!!!

I DEFY the Chain Mail Gremlin

Don't you just LOVE those chain mail emails? You know the kind:

Pass this on to 7 friends in 7 seconds or your car will break down, your
dishwasher will leak ,you'll step in dog poop and you'll have a bad hair day!

Send this to 10 friends and back to me. If you don't send it back to me, then I'll know you are not a real friend

If you don't send this prayer and spread His love, God's gonna forsake you (as if)

Sound familiar???? If so, Check out this website message for your antidote for the day:

http://www.softlab.ece.ntua.gr/~sivann/pub/swf/may02-smilepop-soapbox4.swf

If you know anyone that you think may appreciate this , let them know...... or not.
Someone has to break the cycle, right?????

I was a victim of the Indy 500 Turtle!!!!

This is something that has been on my mind. I wrote this up after the Indy 500 Turtle struck when we were trying to get home to get ready for a graduation party. What is an Indy 500 turtle you ask???? ALLOW ME TO STEP UP UPON MY SOAP BOX

*AHEM*

Bumper stickers
There are a Ton out there.
I Brake for Moose, I Brake for tag sales , Vote for this or that , Support this or that, Complain about this or that,

BUT they don’t have bumper stickers saying what they should to warn us GOOD drivers about the BAD driver in front of us.

I BRAKE FOR SHADOWS - serious hazard
I BRAKE FOR WIDE CORNERS- you know, the corners Mac Trucks wouldn’t even have to use their brakes for.
I BRAKE FOR PEDESTRIANS ON A SIDEWALK - they’re not walking IN the road, but ON the sidewalk! Very High Risk activity.
I BRAKE FOR CARS PASSING BY ME IN THE OTHER LANE
I BRAKE FOR CARS PASSING ME GOING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION

I BRAKE FOR FROST HEAVES (that could work depending on where you live and size of frost heave) - I'm talking here the Princess and the Pea sized frost heaves --
I BRAKE FOR BIRDS - you know, crows and carrion eaters - that gorge on the lovely road kill generously provided by those cars that wouldn’t have an "I Brake for" bumper sticker - EVER.

Or, Descriptive Bumper Sticker :

I'M AN INDY 500 TURTLE! You know the kind. In a 35 MPH zone, waiting to pull out from a side street or traveling in a double lane that is going to converge into one, there they wait.. You are almost upon them THEN, ZOOM! The Indy 500 mad dash to zip out in front of you (they obviously watch ESPN- a lot) and then WHAM! they take their foot off the pedal, dropping into the dead zone right in front of you!!. You are now at their mercy. They are now in front AND there are NEVER any passing Zones. When a miracle occurs and a passing zone does appear, there is a RULE that there will ALWAYS be oncoming cars! They have become The Turtle ...sedately continuing on their way ...going 25 in a 35 MPH zone!!! WHAT ARE THEY DOING????? Saving us from speeding tickets???? That’s why we have Radar detectors! WE NEED TO BE WARNED!!!

Care to share your favorite bumper stickers that "Should be???"

I passed this around to family and friends before I posted this. This is the Bumper Sticker Feedback I'll share with their permission:
I BRAKE BECAUSE I CAN! (my favorite *grin* )
MY OTHER CAR IS BROOM
ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE BLUE, I'M A SCHIZOPHRENIC AND SO AM I
MY OTHER CAR IS A PIECE OF S**T TOO
THE BEST THING TO SPEND ON OUR CHILDREN IS TIME

Reader, Please feel free to add. And may your Indy 500 Turtle be FAR from you!

Will you smile this Monday??

Mondays can be tough to get your motor running after a weekend.
A family member thought I should have a reason to start my day with
a smile. She sent me these two. There was a third and although it sent me
into peals of laughter, I felt uncomfortable sharing something That spicey. (aw, shucks, right?)
However, I do like to share,
my Favorite Thing today is : A chance to chuckle and chortle

A couple was dressed and ready to go out for the evening. They turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on, covered their pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard. They phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi.
The taxi arrived and the couple opened the front door to leave their house. The cat that they had just put out, scoots back into the house.
They don't want the cat shut in the house because "she" always tries to eat the bird.
The wife goes out to the taxi while the husband goes inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, the man in hot pursuit.
The wife doesn't want the driver to know the house will be empty. So She tells the taxi driver that her husband will be out soon. "He's just going upstairs to say good-bye to my mother."A few minutes later, the husband gets into the cab.
"Sorry I took so long," he says, as they drive away.
"Stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. Had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! Then I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked. I hauled her fat ass downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!"

The cabdriver hit a parked car.

The second one is:

Old Harold

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Harold the computer guy, to come over. Harold clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. He gave me a bill for a minimum service call. As he was walking away, I called after him, "So, what was wrong?" He replied, "It was an ID ten T error." I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, "An, ID ten T error? What's that .. in case I need to fix it again?" Harold grinned.... "Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?" "No," I replied. "Write it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it out."

So I wrote down .....

I D 1 0 T

I used to like Harold.

Hopefully, dear reader, you felt an urge to smile or at least did a "happy eye roll" upon reading the above. Apologies if you've seen them before. Jokes get around quicker and farther nowadays.

Questions for today: Have you seen Star Wars III??

Will you see Mr & Mrs Smith?

In the past, have you ever seen Prizzi's Honor ??

Personally, I think Mr & Mrs is a take on the same theme, just with

a lot more flash and a better looking male lead *grin*

I guess the ending will determine just how much it mirrors

Prizzi's Honor. (I didn't care for ending of PH, did You?)

Care to comment?

Random Paranormal Musings

It's just a thought. A question. When did I experience something in my life
that might have helped me become open to reading and enjoying anything
paranormal? Kids do not read early on, they mostly are exposed to TV.
I would classify myself as a member of the TV generation. And , please don't groan, but
the first TV shows a kid is exposed to are Saturday Morning Cartoons and programs! Right?

Assuming (I'll take a chance here) I am, I am curious.... which shows do YOU remember?
Did you ever notice a theme to what you watched over the years???

First memories:
Space Ghost - Definitely my first crush on an Alpha male in tights
Jonny Quest - Race Bannon - Alpha with great moves, Tight T-shirt, a yummy voice *sigh*
Super Friends - Male Alpha Club - cool costumes, pectorals - "Oooh, save me!!"
Shazaam! - Early magic at work. Another guy in tights - bright Red even!
The Bugaloos cute fae-like creatures with yummy accents- first hint I'd like Scottish Vamps?
H R Puffinstuff- magic again with strange creatures only found there..world-building??
Josie and the Pussycats Sci-Fi adventures - there are bads guys girls can tackle and a
cat that Ganymede -(Cosmic Troublemaker from Nina Bangs) would
approve of...
Duck Dodgers in the 23 1/2 Century!!!!!! Sci-fi can be just plain fun and silly
Last but Certainly Not Least ......
SCOOBY DOO!!!! Mummies, Vampires, Ghosts, Mystery, Intrigue, Fred and Daphne (the ultimate relationship tease), Ancient Egyptian curses and magical suits of armor .....
Yes, Ol' Scoob is right up there with potential influence in paranormal acceptance.

Yes folks, those are the type of shows that laid the groundwork for me.
Feel Free to hop aboard this thought train and share a few tales ........ :-)

EEEK!! A Real Life Movie Scare

Really! This is my personal EEEK!!! story ......

Do we all remember that wonderful horror pic "An American Werewolf in London" with
that cute Dr. Pepper guy??? Great special shifting affects and all? Well, lets refresh a
moment in time ...Remember when they were warned (I paraphrase here)"don't stray from
the road", and that there was a full moon that night? And there was a fog/mist that hampered
their vision. They found themselves off the path (of course) and in the distance they
heard an eerie howl. It repeats and each time, the sound gets closer ....closer....Any minute the viewer knows they are about to meet their worst nightmare. Remember??(oh, the thrills and chills)
Now, comes little ol' me. The theater I saw it in was in a mall, on a hill behind our home. I was within walking distance and I had no problem with walking at night. I don't recall exactly how old I was ...Teenager for sure. Prior to that night, I was "gross-queen", I could stomach anything, nothing scared me. I was fearless. Graphic violence meant nothing to me. (foolish mortal)
After the movie, my friend and I parted. As I walked home that night I noticed hanging full in the sky, was the moon in all its bright glory. "Pretty" I thought as I went, totally confident in myself. That is, until I reached the part of the street that had a long swath of swampness to one side. There was a bank of fog/mist hovering with tendrils that wisped into the road as I walked. That was where I heard it. The HOWL. It was far enough away so I wasn't too concerned; I kept going. All I needed to do was cross the bridge and it was downhill to home. The howl came again. I stopped, stunned. It was closer ; Definitely closer. I looked up and saw the full moon, glanced over at the fog/mist and looked back towards where I thought the sound came from. At that moment, the howl came again, much much closer, and everything came together in my mind. "Run!!!", Panic! This isn't the movie!!! This was really happening. " EEEK!! I think I broke records running home that night. *grin* Since then I've not been able to watch any truly graphic horror films. Good thing too, because then came Freddie Kruger (shudder) and his ilk and I definitely wouldn't want to wish a "Movie Moment" from that series on my worst enemy!!! (double ick) So, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Thanks again for reading this blurb and I hope that if you ever do have a Movie Moment, may it be from a Romance!!!!
