I had ...Thanks Janie!
I appreciate your stopping by. I had a further thought about this over the weekend. I recently read Spellbound by Rebecca York. The basis for the bad guy was that oil was discovered and certain individuals in political office were plotting to get rid of the main character for the land so they could exploit the oil. This was written before the ruling. Just think, the protagonist now, would WIN against the land owner! They wouldn't have to scheme any longer. All they needed to claim was that the development of the natural resource would benefit the town economically with jobs and influx of good ol' money for the town's infrastructure... and wham! the end of generations held land. OK, that may be simplifying things but I understand that is the general gist of it. There's a reason that greed was listed as one of the 7 mortal sins and the Supreme Court just opened the door and set out the welcome mat WITH a red carpet besides....grrrrrr.

Oh, and Tanya, I remember that saying. They used it in Dante's Peak, that volcano movie with Pierce Brosnan. Gee wasn't land greed (IE $$$), Town vs. People, the main conflict that caused all those needless deaths in the film....?
That premise wouldn't work so well if it wasn't based on real human nature.......*sigh*

Thanks Bonnie, I can only try. At least I'm not putting you to sleep!
Political diatribe has been known to cure my insomnia...Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08573730655117969888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12924401.post-1119757869866206982005-06-25T23:51:00.000-04:002005-06-25T23:51:00.000-04:00Michele,Little by little, our rights are being str...Michele,

Little by little, our rights are being stripped away.
