Special Today: Book/Joke Value Meal

Hello Again!
It's been a few days. I've been absolutely captivated by a wonderful book that I just finished reading. I simply couldn't put it down.

If you are fan of Vampire romances, or author's Lynsay Sands, Katie MacAllister, Christine Feehan or Laurell K. Hamilton, then this book should appeal to you. How To Marry A Millionaire Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks. This authors quirky humor is a unique voice and lends itself to a wonderful world where vampires have a few new toys in their bag of tricks. The romance between the two main characters is HOT and yummy. Her world building is such that you know there are more books coming...and you end up looking forward to them. I know I do. I already emailed the author. You should check out her website it's adorable! http://kerrelynsparks.com/index.html
There's even an excerpt to read. With every book , there's always the hard fact of the "but" factor. I mostly liked the female lead, Shanna Whelan. I mean she puts up with a lot of shocks to her system and all, but I think she was written with a few too many tear scenes. Most worked actually...but there were a few spots where I just felt, less tears and more ... something stiffer, more - I don't know... reaction with action... Fortunately there were not too many of THOSE moments., so the story doesn't lose it's momentum. I LOVE the fact that she's a dentist and if you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that I once had an idea of an
"Evil dentist who preys on Vampires" and I questioned what would happen to the vampire without his teeth. Guess what???? This book solves the riddle....Boy was I surprised to see that in there!!!! I liked this book a lot, I recommend it for an Awesome summer read and I hope you check it out.

NOW, Time to excercise your smile muscle again. This was sent via email to me by another good friend who knows that smiling is a "favorite thing".
Enjoy!!!

Example of Senior Dress Code violation.... If anyone knows this lady PLEASE forward this to her....... (keep scrolling after picture).

...................... SENIOR DRESS CODE

Many of us "Old Folks" (those over 60, WAY over 60, or hovering near 60) are quite confused about how we should present ourselves. We're unsure about the kind of image we are projecting and whether or not we are correct as we try to conform to current fashions. Despite what you may have seen on the streets, the following combinations DO NOT go together and should be avoided:

1. A nose ring and bifocals

2. Spiked hair and bald spots

3. A pierced tongue and dentures

4. Miniskirts and support hose

5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads

6. Speedo's and cellulite

7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar

8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor

9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge

10. Bikinis and liver spots

11. Short shorts and varicose veins

12. Inline skates and a walker

And last, but not least . my personal favorite:

13. Thongs and Depends

Please keep these basic guidelines foremost in your mind when you shop.

I was at the literacy signing last night at the RWA conferece. Kerrelyn Sparks was to have been there. I have seen her book before. Didn't buy that one.

One paranormal author had a beanie vampire bear. I have her cover flat.

I have that book on my wish list. I'm glad to hear a positive review of it since I haven't heard anything so far.

And Michele? I'm incredibly jealous of your blog. You're all interesting and stuff :) Want to come write my blog entries too? I promise, the aliens will be gentle and no probes will be involved ;)

Eeeeeooooo... I may have to gouge my eyes out now. Sadly, I have seen some of these combinations. But that picture is one of kind. Too funny!

Angiew, LOL! Nice to see you here!
So far, 2 other people have gotten back to me after reading the book. Basic feedback.: "It Rocks!" So that makes 3 so far. *giggles* about the aliens. No probes, huh?
Shucks.

C.J.! Thanks for stopping by to abuse your eyeballs, LOL.
You've seen some of the others listed? Hope you weren't eating at the time! *grin*

I am so glad I wasn't eating! The visuals alone were rough enough. Hey, can I add you to my blog list, Michele?

I Tried a Book Out of My Comfort Zone

Sometimes, reading out of my comfort zone is ... well, uncomfortable. The blurb of the book sounded rather interesting. The Fate of Mercy ...
