Cookies: Why does quality go down?

Why does quality go down when recognition goes up??????

I speak of my favorite COOKIES. (I feel an affinity for Cookie Monster here) They are referred to as Greek cookies; light crumbly
cookies with lots and lots of chopped walnuts (or pecans) covered in powdered sugar.
Great with tea or coffee.
I used to buy them from a little family bakery, but, alas, time
marches on and owners change. So, what's it like Now???
The cookies sell for $8.00 to $10.00 a pound!!!!! AND they got smaller. ...Like WHY?
My mouth is the same size. Bod isn't, but whose is??.....Nope, don't answer that...(thankyou)
Fast forward to moving to a new community and discovering the most frenetic
kamikaze baking artiste ever to bake. His cakes aren't frosted, they are decorated, garnished
and are a work of art. One must truly appreciate the seriousness of his craft. He does.
What he also does is make Greek cookies . *sigh* BIG, delicious Greek cookies. The best part, they only cost $4.99 a pound. Did I mention bigger? Bigger IS better *grin*. Let's face it, when you eat a cookie, it should last more than once stingy bite! I want to bite Into a cookie, not inhale it. (ouch)
He's now becoming well known in the area and I'm worried. What will happen to my
Big Fat Greek Cookies???? Will they mutate and shrink ? Will the price go up higher than a man's salute to Pamela Anderson? Gack!
I'm hoping not, I'll go into withdrawal. I can't keep moving to a new community just to find awesome , home-made, thigh-creating, butt expanding, delicious cookies. Can I?? (FYI-nope)
Question of the day - What is YOUR favorite Cookie? And What lengths would YOU go
for your cookie fix? Make it or buy it? Ask or Connive for it? Barter or Bribe for it?
What unleashes the cookie demon in you??????????

Cookie Monster was my favorite Sesame Street character }:)

Chocolate chip cookies are my absolute favorite but peanut butter is a close second! I make my cookies when I need a cookie fix.

Does anyone need a reason to release the cookie demon?

*sigh*, Oh yeah, Bonnie, Choco chip is good too. Warm from the oven is best. A family member is nuts with those. She puts warm choco chip cookies in a bowl, puts vanilla ice cream on top, cover it with chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream - no cherry. Totally good and bad at the same time *grin*
ANY reason is good enough to unless the cookie demon. Especially when I'm *ahem* PMS'n.

Wow, Tanya, not too many people love oatmeal as much any more. At least, they won't admit to it . Don't know why....maybe its that Quaker Oats guy or something. I like choco-chips in mine though. Gee, it's been a long time since I've made those...it's supposed to be cooler today...Hmmm, ...I feel a craving coming on ..maybe I'll bake today....Ohoh, the demon is loose!!!! *grin*

Gingerbread ice cream is to die for. I love it. Also, cookies and cream. Oh, sorry. You're not talking about ice cream. You're talking cookies. Went off on one of my tangents again. :-)

I Tried a Book Out of My Comfort Zone

Sometimes, reading out of my comfort zone is ... well, uncomfortable. The blurb of the book sounded rather interesting. The Fate of Mercy ...
