Meet the Reading Maniac

I've been reading. Like THAT's a big surprise? *grin* These past 3 weeks have been a fun literary ride. So, tell me, have YOU read any of these????

A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur's Court by Marianne Mancusi
Whats not to like about this fun romp in the past with a "now' kind of gal?
This was a one day read. (like you can't put it down?!!)

Unmasked by C. J. Barry - compared to the first 3 UN books which were fun, this one had me on the edge of my seat. Aychiwawa! Read it within 24 hours.

Oceans of Fire by Christine Feehan - Took me 2 days - well worth it

The Corst Diaries by Katie MacAlister - Oh, this was worth a ROTFLMAO!
Read within 24 hours - simply had to

Perfect for the Beach- Oh smorgasboard of great fun! Features Lori Foster, MaryJanice Davidson, Kayla Perrin, Erin McCarthy, Janelle Denison and Morgan Leigh -
2 day read, sometimes you just have to have spice

Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down - With Sherrilyn Kenyon, Melanie George and Jaid Black
read within 24 hours, but I wanted it sooner or longer, not sure which - Jaid Black's was really cool! Simply Sizzling Yowza!

Bad Boys To Go with Lori Foster, Janelle Denison and Nancy Warren. Wow, these
ladies can write. Took 2 days with this one. Love those Bad Boys!

Never Naughty Enough by Jill Monroe - read in one afternoon. I had so much
fun, I didn't want to put it down!!!

Spellbound by Rebecca York - Another one read in one afternoon- good romantic read

Lie by Moonlight by Amanda Quick - read this within 24 hours -Comfortable read

Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff.- This was recommended by another commenter
on another author's blog. Yeah, I liked it and enjoyed the journey but I felt that
the relationship was unsatisfied for me. I needed my HEA!
Hence, upon further checking, I found;
The Second Summoning- Now This was worth it- my quest for the satisfaction of their romantic hinting was met. This one was fun!, thrilling and had some memorable moments of sheer genius and laugh out loud funny. In hopes that this remarkable momentum is continued, I then found
The Long Hot Summoning. *sigh* Picture brakes slamming on. I did NOT enjoy this one nearly as much as 1 & 2. I'm not one to say really specific negatives, I will continue to be nice. I will say I was dissapointed on many different levels.
All in all, I'd say the three books took me about a 4 days to read.

I've been so happy with the stories I've been reading. But, now I NEED YOUR HELP!!! July is upon me and I've read through most of my TBR pile. What do you recommend that I read next?
Oh, before you mention these, the Givinchy Code and Awaken Me Darkly are recently in my possession and are next on my reading radar .......*picture hands rubbing in anticipation*
As you can see, I am Lady Read-a Lot, and I need more......
I await your wisdom. BOOK ME!

I requested your recommendation from my local library. Only 1 copy available and it was already overdue. Hopefully, someone didn't decide to keep it....if so, then it must REALLY be good!

Michele: I can't keep up with you!! Well if you like romances, and historical romances... there's one I always loved... a few years old now, but I still love it. Cinders to Satin by Fern Michaels.

I am reading Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I really like that dude's writing, and am a fantasy whore in general. lol Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel trilogy are my FAVOURITES of all time -- LOTS of passion, a GREAT romance that comes to fruition in the second novel... fantastic. NOt the kind you can read in a day, though (although I did read the 2nd novel, 900 pages, in a weekend), but well well worth it.

Jessie ! Great to hear from you. I'll look up your recommendations.
I like fantasy stories too. Actually, I like many different kinds of fantasy/romance But not westerns..Can't get into that for some reason.....
Thanks!!!!

Silma,
Of your list, I've read...oh no,here I go again *grin*
Seduced by Moonlight-owowza
Both "Masters" by AK (oh Jane's Warlord too)
And Nina's Night Bites And Wicked Nights....yum
The rest, I can add to my TBR,
Thanks!!!!!!!

Tanya, thanks for your suggested title as well. There's nothing better than a personal vote for a book versus guessing from a synopsis on a book flap. Thanks!!!!!!!!

I just read Crimson City by Liz Maverick and it was fantastic! If you haven't read anything by Karen Moning, she's amazing -- my all time favorite author. Also Goddess of Spring by PC Cast is my favorite of PC's books. Janet Chapman's Highlander series is great. Katie MacAlister's Guardian series is wonderful. An older romance I still enjoy is The Bride Finder by Susan Carroll. I could go on and on!

Thanks Gena!!! Some of them I have read and I totally, absolutely agree! The others, well, my TBR pile is getting healthy again. Since I really enjoyed Awaken Me Darkly, and your 2 other books, I am looking foward to reading your recommendations that I haven't read yet. So Glad you dropped by!!!!
Is Crimson City already out? I went to Barnes and Noble 3 days ago and it wasn't there, but neither was Enchanted Inc. and that for sure SHOULD have been there. I'll keep looking.

Michele,

Here's another book to add to your list. If you loved the movie Somewhere In Time, you'll love the book that inspired it.

The movie was based on a novel by Richard Matheson titled BID TIME RETURN.

As for background, Matheson wrote a lot of the screenplays for Rod Serling's Twilight Zone series. He's also the author of the book that inspired the Robin Williams movie. Can't remember the full name but "Dreams" was part of the title. It's about the guy whose wife died (Cuba Gooding Jr was in it too) and he had to go to Hell to get her back.

Anyway, Bid Time Return (for Somewhere In Time Fans) fills a lot of the details in that the movie lacked. Great book. Starts off slow, but once it picks up you can't put it down.

Tanya,
Would you believe that I have NEVER seen Somewhere in Time??? My cousin has been trying to get me to see it, haven't done it yet. I think I will more likely read the book first then maybe see it. Thanks for the title, now I have somewhere to focus.
OMG- you just gave me a way to meet my first Challenge!!!! I just joined the Reading Challenge for Adults summer program at my local Library and one of the challenges is to read a book that was turned into a movie!!!! As I was typing, the realization hit me..... As they say nowadays.....KEWL!!!!!!!!
Mega Thanks Tanya!

I think I was the reader who rec'd Summon the Keeper. Hmm...hope I did mention that it wasn't a romance as I rec'd it mainly because of the humor and the cat. :-) I agree that the third one just wasn't as good as the others.

I loved Austin...

I Tried a Book Out of My Comfort Zone

Sometimes, reading out of my comfort zone is ... well, uncomfortable. The blurb of the book sounded rather interesting. The Fate of Mercy ...
