Flips sides

I titled today "flip sides", due to the intent to mention something sort of sad, then
something fluffy.

Sad is the news about Gilligan...remember him? Bob Denver? I grew up watching
Gilligan's Island and I watch the reruns when I can. My DH can't stomache the show....it's too smarmy and unrealistic with grit-your-teeth/roll your eyes campy humor. Precisely why I LOVED it when I was growing up. Now, well, I can see the flaws...but they reveled in them, exploited them even because the series was a reason to have fun. You are never too old to be silly. Silly balances the crap that life dishes out sometimes.
Many of the websites I visit have mentioned Katrina. I can't add anything to what already has been eloquently said. I blame no one. I'm dealing with it. I have donated to the Red Cross and I do intend to give blood when a bloodmobile comes to my town...and if the local schools do a drive to collect necessary items I'll do that too.......enough said.

Haven't heard the news? Check HERE FOR BOB'S STORY

The Fluff I mentioned? A fun read. Have you ever heard of Kate Moore?
I guess she's known for writing regencys. Since, as a rule, I hardly read them, I didn't know about this author. I just finished her first contemporary romance and I have to say...there were some unusual elements.

What happened to the mayor at the end...well, the end justified the means. I'm still giggling about that. Loved the dog. Even the dog is a player in the story.
I enjoyed the secondary characters. I liked how she wrote the "bad" guy(s) and I enjoyed the prose she used to describe the little town and its citizens. The romance between the two, Alexandra and Sam was nicely done. I found out what an Epigram was. Didn't realize that I used them all the time. Simply Amazing!!!
I hope Ms. Moore writes more contemporaries. I'm looking forward to reading them if they are as delightful as this one.

How did I find it? Um...the title has something to do with it.
Clever isn't it?

At the end of the book, like most good marketers, they have blurbs about other offerings by the publisher.
Has anyone ever read or heard of this book? Confessions Of A Lingerie Addict by Jennifer Ashley???? .

Sure sounds good, so I'm going to order it. Anyone want to give me a spoiler on it? I don't mind. I like spoilers

And to finalize the upbeat moment, I'm going to share a really
light, dandelion fluff item:

I love the AD! Haven't read Sexy Lexy yet. Saw it in the bookstore and picked it up, bought another one instead. Maybe I'll give another look.

I was thinking about Bob Denver too... Gilligan will always be one of my favorite characters.

I liked CONFESSIONS OF A LINGERIE ADDICT. It has a very chick lit feel but is essentially a romance.

Hi Brandy!
Hope you do give SL a chance. BTW-what book did you get instead? Any good???

Good Morning Annalee!
I agree. I never did get into his KREB character from Dobie Gillis.

Howdy Ellen!!
Thanks for the input on the book. I look forward to reading it. I'm still hazy about what sets chick lit from other story styles....
Have a great day!!

I Tried a Book Out of My Comfort Zone

Sometimes, reading out of my comfort zone is ... well, uncomfortable. The blurb of the book sounded rather interesting. The Fate of Mercy ...
